Art director and designer based in Oakland, CA. Currently, I’m a Lead Creative at Shopify, focusing on thoughtful, systems-led brand and campaign work.

I approach design as an ongoing process — one that evolves, adapts, and responds to its context over time.

Powered by Shopify

2025

“Powered by Shopify” is a global brand campaign celebrating the transformative moments that define entrepreneurial journeys. Centering 22 real merchants, the campaign positions Shopify as the definitive platform for aspiring business owners—highlighting authentic stories of growth, perseverance, and success.

As Art Director, I helped shape the overarching concept and visual language of the campaign, with a focus on creating work that felt bold, inspiring, and grounded in real experience. I also served as team lead for social video and static creative, overseeing the design iterations across platforms including TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram.

Launched globally across broadcast, digital, and social channels, the campaign delivered over 100 tailored assets across four markets. Every piece of creative was designed to prime new audiences—meeting them where they are and making entrepreneurship feel possible, personal, and powerful.

Shopify Growth Video

2022-2025
This is a selection of video creative from my time as a Lead Creative and Art Director at Shopify. Focused on growth and brand awareness, these campaigns supported Shopify’s efforts across linear TV, YouTube, and social channels.

As part of the Video Growth Team, I art directed and designed work that spanned brand, performance, and product storytelling. I collaborated closely with creative directors, directors, agency and in-house marketing teams, motion designers, writers, and production crews, both on set and off, to craft creative that was strategically driven and visually impactful.

This is an incomplete list of collaborators, creative partners, and teammates. It will be updated with more details soon.

Spades Typeface

2023
Spades is a contemporary Baroque typeface that fuses the ornate elegance of 18th-century typography with the sharp functionality of modern inktraps. Originally developed as a thesis project for the Type West program at Letterform Archive, Spades was acquired in 2022 by Order Design’s Type Foundry (OTF) for commercial release.

Rooted in historical research and expressive design, Spades explores the unexpected resonance between two seemingly distant cultural movements: the Baroque era and the Black Arts Movement. The Baroque period—often framed through a Eurocentric, white aesthetic—has long been associated with excess, ornamentation, and power. By bringing it into conversation with the unapologetic political expressiveness of the Black Arts Movement, Spades reframes this typographic lineage through a more expansive cultural lens.

In doing so, Spades challenges dominant narratives of beauty and form, asserting a visual language that is both historically layered and deeply contemporary. It carries the extravagance, defiance, and stylistic confidence of both eras—crafting a typeface that is as much about presence as it is about power.

Why Atlassian Cloud

2021
This video was designed to position Atlassian Cloud as the optimal solution for enterprise customers, featuring insights from company leaders and highlighting strategic investments made to simplify and support the migration journey.

As Creative Lead, I developed the visual approach and design direction, shaping a cohesive look and feel that balanced technical clarity with brand storytelling. The video served as a key asset in a broader multi-channel campaign targeting existing customers and enterprise decision-makers—reinforcing the long-term value of migrating to cloud and deepening trust in Atlassian’s product vision.

Atlassian Platform

2020
This camapign marked Atlassian’s first public-facing effort to position itself as an integrated, open, and extensible platform. As Creative Lead, I developed the visual strategy and design direction, helping evolve the Atlassian brand into a more human, relatable presence—while building a flexible visual system designed to scale across products and teams.

This high-priority campaign delivered a competitive message aimed at existing customers, showcasing how Atlassian’s platform connects tools, teams, and workflows. I led a cross-functional creative team—spanning design, copy, and development—to shape the art direction, craft cohesive messaging, and guide implementation across multiple touchpoints.
